at the time (=when) ~ 할 때

오늘은 at the time 이란 부사절 접속사를 배워보겠습니다.

하지만 시험문제로 이게 나왔다고 생각해보세요. at the time 을 모르면 풀 수 없겠죠?

at the time 은 when 과 의미와 용법이 동일하다고 보시면 됩니다.

위 문장을 해석해보면,

이탈리아 리스토란테가 고객들에게 문을 ​열었을 때,
it was the only restaurant serving authentic Italian food in the county.
그 식당은 그 지역에서 진정한 이탈리아 요리를 제공하는 유일한 식당이었다.

쉽죠? ~할 때라는 표현은 when말고도 at the time 이란 표현도 있다는 걸 잊지마세요 ^^

참고로 authentic은 진짜의~, 진정한~ 이란 뜻을 지니고 있습니다.

예를 들어, 여긴 너무 근대화된 중국 마을이네. 중국인들의 참 모습을 볼 수 있는 진정한(authetic) 마을을 보고 싶어 라고 말할 때 쓰는 단어입니다.
